Discover Křekov – vacation rental, Hložecká Chapel and the White Carpathians
The Hložecká Chapel of the Virgin Mary, Queen of Peace, was built in 1953 on the site of a Baroque chapel. The present-day Hložecká Chapel commemorates the rescue of the local residents during the Tatar raid of 1663.
Culture
Evidence of local history can also be found beyond the chapel. The sandstone cross in Křekov village square is a monument of local importance dating from 1906. As part of an initiative, two pairs of traditional festive costumes from the second half of the 19th century were made in Křekov.
Nature
Křekov lies on the edge of the White Carpathians Protected Landscape Area. The village stretches through the valley of the Křekovský Stream and lies at the northern foot of the 642-meter-high Vysoká mountain. These location details describe the landscape through its clear geographical reference points: the protected area, valley, stream and mountain each form part of the setting that defines Křekov.
There is a rich population of the white-flowered crocus (Crocus albiflorus). A natural stream channel with riparian vegetation, forested slopes and a valley meadow form a landscape of high scenic value. Thus, alongside the distinctive plant life, different landscape elements are also central: the water with its riparian vegetation, the forested slopes and the open meadow.
Several marked hiking trails lead to the Hložecká Chapel from different directions. Visitors were invited to a traditional summer pilgrimage to the Hložecká Chapel in Křekov. An invitation was also issued for a traditional winter pilgrimage to the Hložecká Chapel in Křekov. The two pilgrimages therefore explicitly refer to different seasons, while the marked trails provide access to the chapel from various directions.
If you are reviewing a vacation rental in Křekov or comparing several offers, pay particular attention on the respective offer pages to the exact location, accommodation type and occupancy. The included services, price components, and booking and cancellation conditions can likewise be checked directly there. These details may vary from one offer to another; the specific information on each individual page is therefore decisive. This avoids presuming features that do not apply to every offer. For occupancy, the key factor is the number of people stated on the respective page; any conditions listed there should also be read in full. When reviewing the price, check which components are already included and whether any additional costs are listed separately. The location should be compared with the place or address details used on the offer page. For accommodation type, the specific designation may be important when comparing different offers. Also check the conditions under which a booking can be changed or canceled. When comparing several vacation rentals, it may also be useful to check whether the accommodation designation is used consistently and whether the stated number of guests matches the conditions of the offer.
