Holiday apartment in Oldřichovice – Culture, Trails and History

Oldřichovice has a local history dating back to the Middle Ages, alongside regionally rooted traditions and modern sacred architecture. The village has been documented in writing since April 3, 1337. In the first half of the 14th century, Oldřichovice was part of the Podhradí estate. Local traditions were shaped by the village’s location at the transition between Slovácko, Wallachia and Haná.

Culture

Until 1880, Oldřichovice had its own men’s and women’s traditional costumes. This historical feature stands alongside the regularly held sports memorial tournament in honour of Miloš Skácel. Traditional clothing and the recurring event are therefore among the cultural facets of the village.

The modern Church of St. Zdislava in Oldřichovice was designed by architect Martin Tomešek. It was built between 1994 and 1997 and consecrated by Auxiliary Bishop Josef Hrdlička.

Nature

The Stezky napajedelských emirátů trails pass through Oldřichovice. Their routes are intended for pedestrians and cyclists, including mountain bikers. In total, the Stezky comprise around 70 kilometres of marked trails with beautiful views and connect Napajedla with the surrounding municipalities, including Oldřichovice. As a regional network, the route thus connects individual places and different trail sections rather than being limited to a single destination. The markings and information boards belong to the same trail system described here; in addition to viewpoints, historical sites such as fortresses, ruins and monuments are therefore also included along the route. A historical route connection is also associated with St. Zdislava Church: the pilgrimage stage from Štípa to Napajedla passed through the church in Oldřichovice. For December 31, 2026, the Klub českých turistů Napajedla is also announcing the 46th K. Janošek New Year’s Eve Hiking Day.

Geographical location

Oldřichovice lies in the hills above Malenovice, between Pohořelice and Karlovice. Oldřichovice’s rail connection is via Napajedla, 5 km away; the railway line 330 between Přerov and Břeclav runs there. The road to Oldřichovice branches off the Class I/55 road between Otrokovice and Staré Město u Uherského Hradiště.
