Horní Lapač: Holiday Apartment, Cultural Monuments and Events

Horní Lapač brings together traces of different periods, religious places of remembrance and clearly defined local sites with regular events throughout the year. Craftsmanship, protection dates and the location of individual monuments make the village’s cultural themes tangible without merging them into a single setting.

Culture

At the Kamenný kříž in Horní Lapač, protected status and craftsmanship come together. The cross has been protected as a cultural monument since 3 May 1958 and is also an example of traditional Neoclassical stonework from 1866. It has a corpus on a tall prismatic pedestal bearing a relief of Our Lady of Sorrows. Its protection, dating and design form three clearly distinguishable aspects of the same monument.

The Litinový kříž adds its own temporal and stylistic accent. It too has been protected as a cultural monument in Horní Lapač since 3 May 1958. The Litinový kříž is a piece of craftsmanship from 1889 featuring the body of Christ. Thus, two differently named crosses, each with its own year and design, stand side by side, while their protection began on the same date.

Landscape and Trails

The location of the Litinový kříž is precisely defined: it stands in fields in the northern part of the cadastral area of Horní Lapač, on the border with Žeranovice and Martinice. A second northern location reference concerns Cycle Route 5036. It runs along the northern side of the cadastral area of Horní Lapač. The two references therefore identify different points: in one case, fields on a border; in the other, the route of a cycle path.

Village Center and Places of Remembrance

The Chapel of St. Florian was built in 1908. It stands on the village square next to the municipal office, so both the building’s year of construction and its location within the village are established. The statue of the Virgin Mary commemorates something different: it was erected in 1946 as the residents’ thanks for protection during the Second World War. The two religious sites therefore reflect different temporal references: in one case, the construction year of a chapel, and in the other, the reason for erecting a statue.

Events

Local events also focus on different themes. Horňanský gulášový kotlík is an event held regularly in September in Horní Lapač. Pochod po polních obrázcích is a hiking event held regularly in November in Horní Lapač. Hody sv. Floriána is also among the events listed in Horní Lapač. Košt slivovice is likewise among the events listed in Horní Lapač. The two regularly mentioned events are explicitly associated with September and November, respectively.

When there are several options, it is worth calmly comparing the details provided for them rather than considering individual features in isolation. This keeps the location, type, occupancy, amenities, costs and conditions in view together before you decide on an offer.
