Culture

The Church of St. Nicholas stands on original Gothic foundations from the 14th century and was remodelled in the Baroque style in the 17th and 18th centuries. Beneath the Church of St. Nicholas is a crypt where some members of the Minkvice family, including Jan Adam and Regina M. of Lukov Castle, as well as high-ranking officials of the estates, are buried. The building history and the names of those buried there provide different points of emphasis within this historic site.

The Hrubá hospoda at Náměstí Míru is a 17th-century building with a Renaissance core, vaulted ceilings, a mázhauz and large cellars. The tradition of annual markets in Fryšták began with an edict issued by Emperor Ferdinand I in 1550 and was later confirmed by Joseph II in 1784 and Francis I in 1794. The former hospital in Fryšták now serves as a rest area with an indoor fountain. A bust of the first Czech Salesian, P.
