Zvěrkovice: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Zvěrkovice already existed in the first half of the 14th century. Before the Thirty Years’ War, there were 26 farmsteads there; during the wars, nine of them fell into disrepair.

Culture

Dated landmarks in Zvěrkovice include the municipal bell tower, dating from 1854, and the Chapel of the Guardian Angel, built in 1902. The memorial to those who fell in the First World War was unveiled on 2 September 1928. The Divadelní ochotnický soubor Zvěrkovice has existed since 2009.

Geographical setting

Kaplička sv. Anny stands on a field path to Lažínky, while Kaplička sv. Trojice is located on the outskirts of Zvěrkovice. Cyrila a Metoděje is a small Neoclassical niche chapel east of Zvěrkovice on the road to Hostim. A secondary road runs through Zvěrkovice towards Hostim. There are stone or iron crosses at other locations in the cadastral area of Zvěrkovice.

Nature and activities

The Polepšil pond is a habitat for wild ducks; swans regularly breed there.

The hiking route “Z Buďovic přes Jevi do Olbramkostela” passes through Zvěrkovice. The multi-purpose sports field in Zvěrkovice can be used for tennis, football, basketball and various other ball sports; the field is freely accessible to the general public and holiday guests.
