Věchnov: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Věchnov is situated in an open landscape in the southwestern part of the Svratecká hornatina Nature Park. Babylon, a mountain, is located in the vicinity of Věchnov. Sýkoř, Víckov and Kočíko, each mountains, are also located in the surrounding area.

Nature and trails

The Věchnov educational trail has seven stations. It starts at the entrance to the town of Bystřice and ends above the village in the direction of Kovářova. Along the educational trail, there are places to rest and entertainment options for children.

Cycle Route No. 1 runs along Road III/38810 and connects Bystřice nad Pernštejnem with Nedvědice.

Culture and history

Iron ore was mined in the local “Železinka” quarry from the end of the 19th century. The ore extracted in the “Železinka” quarry was processed in the foundries of Štěpánov.

The war memorial in Věchnov bears a bust of T. G. Masaryk as well as the names of residents who fell in both world wars. A chapel in Věchnov replaced a small chapel.
