Tis: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Tis is located at an altitude of 545 metres above sea level and combines a distinctive elevated location with remarkable sacred monuments. The Chapel of the Holy Trinity, built in 1929, is located in Tis. It stands at a site where there was originally a bell tower and, next to it, a wooden cross.

Culture and history

The first written mention of Tis dates back to 1426. The local history also includes the Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk, which was built in 1743.

In Kněž, there is the filial Church of Saint Bartholomew. The church dates back to the 13th century and was first mentioned as a parish church in 1362. Its distinctive details include oak doors whose perforations are attributed to the swords of Swedish soldiers.

Location and historic routes

The local road between Tis and Kněž passes through U kapličky, the highest point in the municipality of Tis, at 581 metres above sea level. The historic Haberská Trail also ran through Kněž, Tis, Skuhrov and Havlíčkův Brod onwards towards Jihlava.
