Sázavka: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Sázavka is home to distinctive religious buildings, historic memorial sites, and landmarks with a clear connection to the surrounding landscape. The Church of St. John the Baptist stands in the centre, while an Evangelical cemetery church is located in the northern part of the municipality.

Culture and history

The Church of St. John the Baptist in Sázavka has Gothic origins and is a single-nave Early Gothic building. The Smírčí kříž, a reconciliation cross, is also part of the town’s historical and cultural heritage.

The Evangelical Chapel in Sázavka was created by converting an older cooperage. Together with the cemetery, it was ceremonially opened on 4 October 1880. A granite monument on the main road commemorates the victims of the First and Second World Wars.

Nature and cycle route

The lower reaches of the Sázavka run along the western edge of the municipality. The SV001 nature conservation site is designated there because two specially protected fish species occur there.

A marked cycle route runs through the municipality, initially along road III/34734 and then along a local road towards Lubno u Bačkova. The Sázavka stop is easily accessible from the central part of the municipality.
