Culture
The Church of St. John the Baptist is an important cultural monument; its origins date back to the time when Rokytnice nad Rokytnou was founded. A staircase leads up to it, decorated on both sides with Baroque statues of saints. At the staircase stand the Baroque statue of Saint Francis of Assisi and the Baroque statue of Saint Sebastian. Both were created in the workshop of Jan Mucek, a sculptor from Znojmo.
Water and Events
The swimming area in Rokytnice nad Rokytnou was built in the early 1970s and developed into a popular destination for swimming trips. The swimming area contains a large pool measuring 50 × 35 metres and a small non-swimmer pool. Both pools have a gradual entry into the water, and the grounds are surrounded by regularly maintained lawns. Changing rooms for men and women are available to visitors. Water quality is not monitored, and the pools primarily serve as water reservoirs for firefighting.
The swimming area hosts mainly summer dance events, country evenings, discos, and sports and social events.
Landscape
The municipality includes the district of Veverka; the Rokytná River rises not far from there. The “Forest Roads Around Rokytnice nad Rokytnou” route passes through forests, fields, and meadows, offers relaxation while cycling, and runs through the rural landscape of the Třebíč region.
