Culture and history

The Baroque château in Dalešice is a single-storey building with an interesting entrance gate. The Church of St Peter and St Paul, a Romanesque-Gothic church dating from the 12th century, stands next to it. At the Dalešice cemetery, the Chapel of the Holy Cross dates from 1708 and was built in the Empire style.

In front of the primary school in Dalešice stands a bronze bust of the poet Vítězslav Nezval. He spent several years during the holidays and in his free time from his studies with his parents in Dalešice; his father was the headmaster there for ten years.

The Dalešice Brewery also combines local history with an engaging presentation: it offers a multimedia tour of the historic part of the brewery. The tour explains the history of the Dalešice Brewery and the production of beer using steam power. At the Dalešice Brewery Museum, beer is tasted directly in the cellar.

Traditions

In Dalešice, the traditional Masopust masked procession has survived to the present day, with only a few brief interruptions. The procession is organised by the local voluntary fire brigade association.
