Rožná: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Rožná lies at an altitude of 461 metres in a hollow that is somewhat open to the northwest and is almost completely surrounded by forests.

Culture

The Church of St Havel in Rožná is, based on an expert classification from 1993, attributed to the second half of the 13th century. It is connected to the rectory by an iron footbridge over the road to Dolní Rožínka; the church contains a marble baptismal font dating from 1684.

The Chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes was consecrated on 16 June 1895. Every second year, Rožná celebrates the Havelské hody festival with a maypole.

Nature

Hradisko is a site where rare minerals have been found. At Hradisko, engineer Karel Ručínský discovered lepidolite and rubellite, a pink-coloured tourmaline, in 1785. Hradisko is visited by mineralogy excursions, mostly from schools in Brno.

A small quarry is located on Hradisko, about 500 metres northeast of Rožná. Hradisko offers a beautiful view of the former uranium deposit near Dolní Rožínka, particularly the spoil heaps.

Routes

Hradisko can be reached from the valley of the Nedvědička via the Sušírna valley and then via the spoil heaps to the summit. A forest path from the road to Zlatkov provides another access route to Hradisko; it begins about 200 metres below the petrol station.

Municipality and leisure

The Rožná municipal library collects, preserves and provides information about the municipality. The Koupaliště Rožná outdoor swimming pool is located in Rožná’s sports complex and has a 30 × 10 metre outdoor pool for swimming.

Cycle route 5130 from Nové Město na Moravě to Pernštejn passes through Rožná at kilometre 21.00.
