Obyčtov: Holiday apartments and holiday homes
Obyčtov is located in the Bítešská vrchovina uplands, in a picturesque valley of the Oslava. The village is home to the Church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary, which was completed in 1735 based on a design by Jan Blažej Santini-Aichel and is registered as a protected cultural monument under registration number ÚSKP 34105/7-4317.
Culture
The church has an unusual single-nave floor plan. Its polygonal structure with four rectangular chapel extensions resembles the body of a turtle. Pilgrimages are a tradition in Obyčtov: the pilgrimage tradition includes one pilgrimage around the Feast of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary and a second around the Feast of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary. The Rychta, a multi-storey building dating from the mid-18th century, is also located in the village.
Nature
Since 2010, the park on the banks of the Oslava in Obyčtov has been home to the giant turtle Želva, a concrete statue by sculptor Michal Olšiak. It stands along a red-marked hiking trail. The mountains of Dědkovská hora, Rosička and Blažkov are located in the vicinity of Obyčtov. The mountain of Světka lies farther away in the surrounding region.
