Rosička: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Rosička is located in the western part of the Žďárské vrchy Protected Landscape Area in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands. West of the settlement rises the hill of the same name, at 645 metres above sea level; at the same time, it is the second-highest point in the microregion.

Culture

The Chapel of the Virgin Mary stands in the centre of the village square. Traditional hand-bell ringing is still practised there to this day. The chapel was probably built around the middle of the 19th century.

Nature

Babín Pond and Matějovský Pond form a nature reserve. It protects a peat bog as well as plants, animals and waterfowl.

Exploration

The Rosička lookout tower is located on the hill of the same name near the village of Rosička. It was built in 2001 as a 42-metre-high telecommunications mast. The observation platform is 24 metres above the ground and can be reached via 140 steps.

The Babín educational trail is an easy six-kilometre hiking route with six stops. It leads through the best-preserved natural areas of the Žďárské vrchy and introduces visitors to the special importance of forests, peat bogs, wetlands and ponds.
