Nová Ves U Chotěboře: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Nová Ves u Chotěboře combines a long local history with notable buildings and a location above the Doubrava Valley. The village was founded in the 13th century.

Culture

The present-day château in Nová Ves u Chotěboře was built in 1873 after the former château had been demolished. An extensive château park surrounds the building. The château is not open to the public, as it is used as a children's home.

The Church of St John of Nepomuk dates from 1816. It is a Neoclassical church with a cruciform nave. It is open to the public on Christian holidays and during regular services.

The monument to those who fell in the First World War stands in the square in front of the school building. It depicts a soldier holding a tall rectangular slab.

Landscape

The immediate surroundings of Nová Ves u Chotěboře include two elevations described as hills: Šidlákov [Uhelná Příbram-Pukšice] and Za Stodolami [Nejepín]. In the wider regional area, Bučina is a mountain. Krkanka, another mountain, is also located in this wider regional area.
