The deeply incised valley of the Rokytná River is part of the Rokytná Nature Park and gives Litovany a clearly defined natural setting. At the same time, the traces of the village reach far back into history.
Culture
Litovany was first mentioned in historical sources in 1353. The Chapel of St. Pius X was built in the 1960s and consecrated in 1970. Another historical chapter began after Jan Zelený z Říčan incorporated Litovany into Krhov in 1555: the local fortress gradually fell into disrepair.
The local events calendar includes the well-known “Poslední leč”, organised every year by the hunting club in Litovany.
