Láz: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Láz combines a long local history with a village character that remains apparent to this day. The first written mention of Láz dates from 1498. A wooden bell tower from the early 19th century stands on the village square.

Culture and History

South of the Class III road, the development around Láz’s village square retains the urban structure of the original buildings. It is predominantly block-like in character and consists largely of enclosed original agricultural farmsteads, rear areas with farm buildings, as well as private and scattered green spaces. Láz also has a memorial plaque dedicated to the victims of the Second World War. On the road to Nové Syrovice stands a wayside shrine from the late 18th century; the Heimatkreuz wayside shrine is located in the vicinity of Láz.

The Lazce farmstead became part of the Bítov estate in 1510. The Schloßberg ruins, Karlslust Castle and the Church of Svatá Markéta are located in the wider regional surroundings of Láz.

Landscape and Trails

The Svatý Vít, Špičák and Modrácký kopec hills are located in the vicinity of Láz. The Stříbrná hora hill is also located in the wider regional surroundings.

The Krumlovsko–Jevišovicko cycle route passes through Láz. The existing cycling routes in Láz are laid down in the municipal land-use plan and are taken into account there. The nearby Graselova stezka Nové Syrovice educational trail is marked with a yellow circle containing a white G.

Traditions

Masopust is still celebrated in Láz. Dožínky is a traditional event in Láz.
