Horní Újezd: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The parish church of St Peter and Paul has a Romanesque core with Gothic alterations, a 16th-century tower, and was rebuilt in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Culture and History

The bell in the tower of the Church of St Peter and Paul bears a motif of the Madonna and Child and dates from 1509. The western part of the cemetery wall dates from the 18th century. On 27 June 2019, a memorial plaque to František Pařil was unveiled at the vicarage in Horní Újezd as part of the Poslední adresa project.

The Újezdský mlýn mill lies southwest of Horní Újezd on the Rokytná River and is mentioned as early as the 14th century.

Horní Újezd can be reached by bicycle from cycle route 5103 via Kojetice. Cycle route 481 from Třebíč also leads to Horní Újezd by bicycle via Slavice and Mikulovice.

The protected species Cyclamen purpurascens occurs in the Liští area. The species Anemone hepatica occurs at Újezdský mlýn. Near Újezdský mlýn there is a self-service bar and a bench; both are surrounded by wooden sculptures of a bear and an owl.
