Hodice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The first mention of Hodice dates back to 1303.

History and Architecture

The fortress of Hodice is mentioned in records from 1377. It later disappeared as the last surviving testimony to the former Hodice estate. On the road leading out of town towards Panenská Rozsíčka stands Münchova vila, an architecturally significant building designed by the Jewish architect Otto Eisler from Brno.

Railway and Station

The Kostelec–Slavonice railway exhibition is located at Hodice railway station. It presents a brief history of the railway line running from Kostelec in Moravia to Slavonice in South Bohemia. Visits are possible by arrangement with the museum administrator.

Hodice railway station is integrated into the public transport system and is located on line 227 between Kostelec u Jihlavy and Slavonice.

Nature and Hiking

A large forest complex stretches east of Hodice, with Jelení hora located within it. At 652 metres above sea level, it is the highest peak in the surroundings of Hodice. Hodice is also a starting point for hikes to Roštejn Castle.

Every year, a New Year's Eve ascent to Jelení hora takes place.

Event

Vepřové hody is considered the most well-attended event in Hodice and usually takes place on the first weekend in October.
