Culture

On the square in front of the church complex in Urbanov stands a valuable Baroque statue of St John of Nepomuk. It was erected and consecrated on 17 September 1729. The enclosing wall of the former medieval cemetery completes the Church of St John the Baptist complex in Urbanov; it contains the small late Baroque Chapel of St Barbara.

The chapel has a rectangular floor plan, a three-sided termination and a round-arched vaulted entrance. A small bell tower crowns its hipped roof. A cross in Urbanov is also a rare, high-quality piece of wrought ironwork with rich Baroque and Rococo ornamentation on a high stone pedestal. A Neoclassical cross dating from 1825 is enclosed by a stone balustrade.
