Horní Dubenky: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Horní Dubenky can be discovered through vivid cultural sites, forest-rich landscapes and several established trails. The Chadimův mlýn Mill Museum displays the complete equipment of a modern village mill from 1926 across four floors. The museum has visitor parking. Chadimův mlýn also contains a Francis turbine, which replaced the water wheel.

Culture and history

The church of the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren (Kostel Českobratrské církve evangelické) is a single-nave late Baroque building with a four-sided tower. It underwent extensive restoration between 2012 and 2016.

There are also special cultural events throughout the year: During the summer months, Horní Dubenky hosts the gathering “Parrésia aneb Ráj srdce a labyrint světa”, which brings together the Gospel and culture. The Masopust carnival procession takes place on the weekend before Ash Wednesday.

Nature

The landscape around Horní Dubenky is characterised by numerous wetlands and extensive forests. Near the summit of Javořice, Studánka Páně lies approximately 500 metres below the summit. The remains of the Gothic Janštejn castle tower stand on a wooded, rocky rise between Nová Ves and Horní Dubenky. Horní Dubenky is also home to the Ještěnice natural monument.

Trails and routes

Cycle Route No. 5128 runs through Horní Dubenky from Jihlávka to Batelov. The Otakara Březiny educational trail also passes through Horní Dubenky. The “Od pramene řeky Jihlavy do sklárny Janštejn” route is 11 km long and offers several interesting stops in Horní Dubenky. The Březina Trail leads to Horní Dubenky and continues along Bor Pond to Jihlávka.
