In Budeč, the range of described sites extends from the Babín Nature Reserve to historic mining traces and the Chapel of Our Lady of the Snows on the village square. Nature, local history and references to the regional landscape are closely interwoven here in various ways.

Nature

Part of Budeč’s cadastral area is occupied by the Babín Nature Reserve, which belongs to the Žďárské vrchy Protected Landscape Area. The Babín Nature Reserve covers 218 ha, of which 132 ha comprise the actual nature reserve. The source area of the Oslava is located behind Babín Pond.

Rosička is a mountain in the immediate vicinity of Budeč. Světka, Blažkov and Dědkovská hora are mountains in the area around Budeč. Smetanovy sady, a park, is also located in the wider regional surroundings of Budeč.

History

From the František mine, a drainage adit was driven from Budeč between 1845 and 1846; by 1847, it had reached a length of approximately 640 m. The historic mining of iron ore in Budeč employed around 15 miners.

Water from the shaft of the historic mine in Budeč was diverted through an adit to a pond near the flax dryer.

Culture

The Chapel of Our Lady of the Snows received the title “Prestigious Building of the Vysočina Region 2008.” Together with its bell tower, it forms a new landmark and point of orientation on Budeč’s village square.
