The historical landmarks in Velký Šenov include the Church of St. Bartholomew. It is one of the oldest surviving churches in the Šluknov Hook.

Culture

The Way of the Cross in Velký Šenov was laid out in 1855 by Ambrož Hille. The fourteen stone stations were made by the Šenov sculptor Karl Otto.

The Baroque sculpture ensemble of Saint John of Nepomuk dates from 1728 and was created by J. Riedl. The bronze statue “The Wounded” by Opitz, an academic sculptor and pupil of Myslbek, dates from 1929 and is dedicated to those who fell in the First World War.

At the cultural centre in Velký Šenov, the multifunctional hall can be transformed from a cinema hall into a stage for theatrical performances of all kinds by drawing the inner curtain.

Cycling

Cycle paths run through Velký Šenov, connecting tourist border crossings into Germany near Sohland, Sebnitz and Hinterhermsdorf.

Cycle route No. 3041 runs from Lipová/Sohland via Velký Šenov to Mikulášovice. It is 16 km long and has a medium level of difficulty; mountain bikes or trekking bikes are recommended.

Nature

Velký Šenov has a forest swimming pool. The surroundings of the revitalised Černý rybník in Leopoldka are ideal for relaxation.
