Nature
Zlatý vrch is a national nature monument in the Lužické hory Protected Landscape Area. The Studený vrch Nature Reserve is also located in the Lužické hory Protected Landscape Area. Studenec, also called Studený vrch, is a distinctive landscape landmark with block fields of olivine basalt and peridotite inclusions. The Studený vrch Nature Reserve encompasses extensive scree fields and remnants of original woodland.
The Líska Nature Monument protects woodland communities characteristic of scree forests; the perennial honesty (Lunaria rediviva) occurs there in abundance. At Zlatý vrch, the now-abandoned quarry exposes exceptionally well-formed basalt columns up to 30 m long.
Culture and history
A metal observation tower dating from 1888 stands on Studenec. It is considered the second-oldest in the Czech Republic, is a technical cultural monument, and was reconstructed in 2009.
House No. 13 in Líska is a two-storey rural glassmaker’s house from the first half of the 19th century, with a rectangular floor plan, a roof partly designed as a mansard roof, a timber-framed upper storey, and a living room with infill construction on a stone base.
No. 58 in Líska is a rural homestead with a two-storey, four-part rectangular house under a gabled roof and an operating section in the form of a smithy dating from the late 18th century.
