Růžová: Holiday apartments and holiday homes
Růžová is located in the immediate vicinity of Bohemian Switzerland National Park. The village offers opportunities for romantic walks as well as excursions to viewpoints and deep gorges in the nearby and wider surrounding area.
Nature and Trails
The 9.9-kilometre circular trail “Naučná stezka Růžová” begins in Růžová and runs through Bohemian Switzerland National Park and the Labské pískovce Protected Landscape Area. The educational trail has ten stations where visitors can learn about natural attractions and the history of the landscape.
The approximately 500-metre-long “Petřínská stezka” educational trail provides information mainly about the local fauna and features interactive educational stations. A Dutch-type windmill stands at the summit of Petřín. The Růženka lookout tower is 6.5 metres high and offers panoramic views.
An approximately 1.4-kilometre-long section of the “Pastevní” educational trail passes historical structures associated with the activities of the local population, as well as a Madonna, a chapel and a bell tower.
Landscape, Water and Cycle Routes
Růžovský vrch reaches an elevation of 619 metres. It is a nature reserve with original deciduous forest and thermophilous flora.
The approximately 1.6-kilometre-long “Ovocná stezka” connects Růžová with the settlement of Růžová–Nový Svět. Along the route are pear and apple trees of old varieties as well as berry bushes; three small ponds near the route increase biodiversity. The “Ovocná stezka” also serves as a cycle route.
The approximately 2.1-kilometre circular hike “Kovářova stezka” leads around Kovářův kopec and offers insights into the revitalisation of the Janovský potok stream, including a dry valley flood-retention basin. The “Kovářova stezka” is equipped with benches, seating areas and a cycle-route signpost.
The Růžová biotope includes a body of water, visitor facilities, as well as options for refreshments and overnight stays.
Cultural and Experience Attractions
The Baroque Church of St Peter and Paul is a landmark of Růžová and was built on the site of an older church between 1710 and 1712. After the fire on 1 August 1988, it was restored between 1996 and 2000, including the staircase and surrounding walls, and was ceremonially reconsecrated on 7 October 2000.
Rosehill is an open-air museum in the municipality of Růžová in the Labské pískovce Protected Landscape Area. The museum offers hands-on activities such as archery, spear and tomahawk throwing, making simple Native American objects, drumming, fire-making by striking sparks and Native American games for children.
