Újezdeček: Holiday Apartments and Houses

Újezdeček combines a local history shaped by mining and glassmaking with striking views and nearby destinations around Kamenný pahorek. The character of the village is particularly evident in its historic traces and in the view from the village square across the surrounding landscape.

Culture and History

The settlement character of Újezdeček was shaped in particular by mining and its direct connection to Teplice, especially in the area of public infrastructure. The village was formerly called Malý Újezd. In the second half of the 19th century, mining and glassmaking in Újezdeček led to a sharp increase in the population; lignite mining developed in the cadastral area in 1880.

The industrial history includes the Fischman glassworks, which produced bottle and bijouterie glass, and the Ascher glassworks, which produced flat glass. Remnants of old farmsteads, old stone walls on buildings and renovated entrance gates also bear witness to this past. The monument to the victims of the First and Second World Wars also stands on Boženy Němcové Square.

The Dukla settlement is also part of this local historical context: Újezdeček's land-use plan provides for its preservation as an integral part of the municipality's history and as an architecturally valuable residential complex with a central square.

Landscape and Surroundings

The reclaimed former spoil heaps near Újezdeček offer opportunities for walks in nature. Újezdeček provides views of the Ore Mountains. From the village square, Mount Milešovka and the more distant Mount Kletečná can also be seen.

Geographical Location

Újezdeček is connected to Teplice's urban public transport network. From Újezdeček, excursions towards Kamenný pahorek are possible. Lake Barbora is located near Újezdeček at Kamenný pahorek and is used for diving. Lake Barbora is also a destination for holiday stays.
