In Kostomlaty pod Milešovkou, the Březina educational trail begins and ends at the ponds below Kostomlaty Castle. The 7 km educational trail is of medium difficulty. An unmarked 300-metre branch leads from it to Kostomlaty Castle; a marked 500-metre branch leads to Vojenský rybník.

Březina Natural Area

The Březina Natura 2000 site comprises a pond, a meadow on a basalt plateau, old beech stands on the eastern slopes, and a small moor. The great crested newt is designated as a protected feature of the site.

The Březina Nature Reserve can be reached via the red-marked hiking trail between Černčice and Lukov; this trail is accessible from the Kostomlaty–Milešov road.

Castle and Pilgrimage Site

The ruins of Kostomlaty Castle offer views of the surrounding landscape. Kostomlaty Castle was founded around 1300 by the Lords of Rýzmburk. Its keep now serves as a lookout tower.

The Chapel of Our Lady of Help was built in 1825 at a pilgrimage site that had existed since the 18th century. Behind the chapel’s altar, a spring rises and is channelled into an adjoining spring protection area above the well.
