Labská Stráň: Vacation Apartments and Holiday Homes

Belvedér is located in the municipality of Labská Stráň and offers views from a rocky terrace of the Elbe Canyon, Dolní Žleb, the table mountains Zirkelstein and Kaiserkrone, the rocky spur of the Schrammsteine, and Großer Winterberg. From Labská Stráň, the site can be reached via a red-marked hiking trail. Belvedér includes a terraced sandstone structure with a sala terrena, a tall arcade, and the coat of arms of the Clary-Aldringen family; the site was created during the early Romantic phase of tourism.

Culture

The archaeological site contains documented archaeological finds or finds that can reasonably be expected. The archaeologically recorded area lies in the municipalities and cadastral areas of Hřensko and Labská Stráň; the description covers the built-up area of Labská Stráň as well as the rocks on the western and southwestern sides.

In the upper part of the canyon, below the terrace with the municipal quarries of Labská Stráň, lies the Comiteebruch and Elbleiten Comitte quarry complex. It illustrates sandstone quarrying in the 19th century and at the beginning of the 20th century.

History

The settlement of Labská Stráň is thought to have begun during the medieval colonization; the first reliable written mention dates from 1614.

The historic site of Hirniskretzschen lies in the vicinity of Labská Stráň. The surrounding area also contains the Idagrotte Cave, Gohrisch Mountain, Dobrná Mountain, and Diebskeller Cave. In the wider regional surroundings of Labská Stráň are Hohnstein Castle, the castle ruins of Stadt Wehlen, and Střekov Castle.

Cycling

The Markvartice–Růžová–Labská Stráň–Markvartice cycling loop passes through Labská Stráň and is 30 km long in its basic form.
