Homole U Panny: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Homole u Panny is located in the České středohoří Protected Landscape Area. Stage IV of the Jubilee Trail leads through the village, running from Buková hora via Zubrnice and Homole u Panny to Sedlo and Litýš.

Routes

The 58 km cycling loop, Route 3066, also passes through Homole u Panny. It begins in Ústí nad Labem and runs via Velké Březno, Byňov, Homole u Panny, Třebušín, Ploskovice, Žitenice, Litoměřice, Píšťany, Libochovany, Církvice and Sebuzín back to Ústí nad Labem.

Culture and History

The Church of Saint Pius V dominates the western edge of Homole u Panny. The Neoclassical sacred building stands on a rocky hill above the village square. It can be reached via a relatively steep path, whose incline is eased by several pairs of steps.

According to the literature, the church was built in 1787; a chronogram gives 1788, while the foundation stone was laid in 1787. It was built on the site of a chapel constructed by the Litoměřice Dominicans in 1724.

Josef Emanuel Hibsch (1852–1941) was born in Homole u Panny and geologically mapped the České středohoří. A mineralogical museum was established in Homole u Panny in his honor.
