Chotiněves: Apartments and Holiday Homes

Chotiněves is surrounded by fields and offers views of the ridge of the České středohoří Mountains. The Chotiněves Village Heritage Zone was designated on September 22, 1995, and essentially encompasses the entire built-up part of Chotiněves.

Culture

Chotiněves has an elongated, spindle-shaped village green. The village contains exceptionally well-preserved examples of farmsteads dating from the 18th to the 20th century. Large masonry farmsteads alternate with wooden buildings featuring arcaded galleries and half-timbered construction. Chotiněves also has a small local history museum.

Architecture and History

The Chapel of Saint Procopius stands in the center of Chotiněves on a narrow island of land between roads. It is a rectangular, plastered building with a semicircular apse and a triangular gable with a small bell turret. Its interior has a barrel vault with lunettes and is richly decorated with frescoes.

A tower was added to the evangelical church in Chotiněves in 1987. The bell of the evangelical church in Chotiněves comes from the former church in Habřina. Part of the rubble-stone foundation and deep cellars of the Berka of Dubá castle have been preserved at house numbers 45–48.

Nature and Trails

Southwest of Chotiněves stands the Hořidla lookout tower on the eponymous 371-meter-high hill. The Hořidla lookout tower is accessible exclusively on foot via field and forest paths, including from Chotiněves or Jištěrpy, and from the Třebutičky–Encovany road via a turnoff to the left by the cross. It is freely accessible year-round.
