Hoštka: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Hošťka combines distinctive religious buildings with a landscape directly extending into the touristically attractive Polabí region. The Chapel of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary is a cultural monument listed in the Central Register of Cultural Monuments. It stands on the left bank of the Obrtka behind the bridge connecting the Hošťka and Kochovice districts, and was rebuilt in the Baroque style in 1756. This should not be confused with the Baroque Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Hošťka, which was completed in 1762.

Culture and History

The Church of St. Othmar is registered as an immovable cultural monument in the Central Register of Immovable Cultural Monuments and is a distinctive building in the centre of Hošťka. Its tower houses a clock mechanism manufactured by the Prague clockmaking company L. Hainze in 1929 and completely restored in 1998.

The Church of St. George is originally a Romanesque religious building and is one of the oldest and most valuable buildings in the region.

The Holy Trinity Column was solemnly consecrated on 17 November 1737. It is surrounded by a hexagonal balustrade and commemorates the great fire of Hošťka in 1735.

Landscape and Trails

Traditional agriculture in Hošťka made use of fertile fields and slopes. The history of the locality also mentions the cultivation of hops and grapevines.

A blue-marked trail runs through Hošťka via Roudnice nad Labem to Říp. This trail is connected to an extensive network of marked hiking trails.
