Brandov is particularly notable for the Gabrielka educational trail: It begins in Brandov and ends in Hora Sv. Kateřiny. The signposted educational trail is 15 km long, of moderate difficulty, and has a paved surface as well as 20 stations. It takes five hours to visit.
Culture
The church of St. Michael the Archangel acquired its present Baroque appearance through renovations carried out between 1720 and 1730. The church is used for exhibitions and concerts. The Chapel of the Resurrection was built in 1884 in the municipal cemetery in Brandov.
History
Brandov Castle – Loupežnická skála was probably founded in the second half of the 13th century. Due to its location near the national border on a trade route to Saxony, it may have served as a guard post where customs duties were collected. Another historical trace is the Svídnická valley railway, which opened on May 2, 1927. Its Brandau stop served exclusively passenger traffic.
Getting around
Brandov has a border crossing for private motor vehicles as well as a bus connection with neighboring Olbernhau. The town also offers visitors a cycling route.
