The Moravian-Silesian Way of St. James leads from Nosislav along the Svratka to Velké Němčice, passing through the town centre there. The Velkopavlovická Wine Trail also runs through Velké Němčice and then along Road II/425. The route is 109 kilometres long, connects 31 wine-growing municipalities and is marked with yellow metal signs bearing the blue logo of the wine trail. Its southern loop leads from Židlochovice via Velké Němčice to Uherčice.

Culture and History

The Pivovar brewery building is an integral part of the chateau estate and was first mentioned in 1578. It retains its original floor plan with vaulted structures and typical brewery features.

The Church of St. Wenceslas and St. Vitus was built around the middle of the 13th century as an originally Gothic structure. After wartime destruction, it was rebuilt and reconsecrated in 1652; its main altar dates from 1895.

The Kaštýlek Chapel was originally a Baroque chapel in the chateau garden. It is considered a valuable example of smaller-scale sacred architecture and a testimony to the chateau garden, which no longer exists today.

Landscape and Surroundings

The mountains of Nedánov, Obora and Pálava are located in the surroundings of Velké Němčice. The Punty hill is situated nearby. Further afield lies the Dívčí Hrady ruin.
