Velké Hostěrádky: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Velké Hostěrádky combines distinctive landscapes with traces of a long history. The wooded Hradisko hill is associated with the former medieval fortress of Velké Hostěrádky. According to oral tradition, two princesses from Dirtenstein had a church built at the site of the castle now known as Hradisko.

Culture and history

The architectural heritage includes the building of Post Inn No. 74, which is one of the immovable cultural monuments of Velké Hostěrádky. The church in Velké Hostěrádky is dedicated to Saint Roch, Saint Sebastian and Saint Rosalia.

North of Velké Hostěrádky, at the end of the Skřípov valley, lies the Skřípov archaeological site. It dates back to the Middle Bronze Age.

Landscape and nature

The Skřípov area comprises a valley with a pond, terraces and prominent landscape slopes above the settlement. The Svatá a Prostřední vrch Natura 2000 site extends into the northern part of the cadastral area of Velké Hostěrádky. It is home to protected plant and animal species, including the Hungarian jewel beetle, as well as selected protected large mammals.

The Hunivky watercourse flows through the southern built-up part of Velké Hostěrádky.

Getting around

The Pestrá krajina educational trail in Velké Hostěrádky is seven kilometres long, has six information boards and is lined with fruit trees. It is marked in mapping applications and is used by schools, families and tourists for outings.

A regionally significant inter-municipal regional cycle route corridor runs through the cadastral area of Velké Hostěrádky. Regional bus route 541 connects Hustopeče, Boleradice, Klobouky u Brna and Velké Hostěrádky.
