Tvrdonice: Vacation Apartments and Holiday Homes
Floodplain forests, birdlife, regional architecture and local traditions give Tvrdonice a multifaceted character.
Nature
Most of the eastern part of Tvrdonice is covered by floodplain forest. The Soutok-Tvrdonicko area is home to 240 recorded bird species; it serves as a breeding, wintering and migratory stopover area.
The Stibůrkovská jezera Nature Reserve preserves old river channels of the Kyjovka, remaining meadow and wetland vegetation, small pools and fragments of floodplain forest. These habitats provide refuge for rare plant and animal species. The nature reserve can be reached via a turn-off before the entrance to Tvrdonice.
Culture
The Slovácká chalupa in the ethnographic area of Tvrdonice was inspired by a house from Tvrdonice that had been built in 1895 for the National Ethnographic Exhibition in Prague. The amphitheater in Tvrdonice can also be rented.
Routes
A marked turn-off from cycle route 43A leads through the floodplain forest to Tvrdonice. A popular route also leads from Tvrdonice to the neighboring Slovak village of Moravský Svätý Ján.
Geographical Location
The Pohansko Castle, Holíčsky zámok Castle and Svätá Margaréta Church are located in the vicinity of Tvrdonice. The Ostrý and Vinohrádky mountains are also nearby. In the wider regional surroundings of Tvrdonice are the Šaštín ruins and the Barbajky and Vyšicko [Mutěnice] mountains.
