Prosiměřice: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

History

The first documented mention of Kostel sv. Jiljí dates back to September 19, 1226. The church has Romanesque foundations and was rebuilt in an early Gothic style in the second half of the 13th century.

At a central crossroads in Prosiměřice stands a stone pillory with the year 1794 carved into it.

Townscape

At the northern exit of Prosiměřice in the direction of Vítonice stands a statue of sv. Jana Nepomuckého on a stone, cuboid-shaped pedestal beneath chestnut trees.

There is a marble cross on the road to Kyjovice at the turnoff to the breeding area. It was erected in 1921 by the Leopold Zwiebs family in memory of their son Gottfried Zwieba, who fell in the First World War.

The road to Kyjovice also features a well-maintained, restored, semicircular chapel from the 19th century. In the former district of Bohunice in Prosiměřice stands a bell tower dating from the 19th century.

Wine and Outdoor Activities

The wine cellar lane in Prosiměřice comprises 17 wine cellars that are more than 120 to 130 years old. Prosiměřice lies along a cycling route through the wine-growing region.

Meetings

The international gathering of travelers and tourism enthusiasts, CESTY, takes place regularly in Prosiměřice on the last weekend of October. Five gatherings of Mongolians were held under the name Prosiměřická JURTA. Regular meetings of Mongolians living in the Czech Republic take place in Prosiměřice under the name JURTA.

The sports facilities in Prosiměřice are freely accessible to the public.
