Jamolice: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The Templštejn castle ruins are located on a spur of the high plateau above the right bank of the Jihlávka, about 2 km northwest of Jamolice, and are an important archaeological site. Templštejn Castle, with an outer fortification, was built between 1281 and 1298 and abandoned after the mid-16th century. As early as 1232, the Knights Templar settled in Jamolice and initially established a church with a parish there. After 1281, Bishop Theodoric began construction of Templštejn Castle on the right bank of the Jihlávka, about 2 km west of Jamolice. Templštejn, the village of the same name, as well as Jamolice, Dobřínsko, Řeznovice and Biskoupky formed a special estate belonging to the so-called commandery of the religious military order. In Jamolice, the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary has a Romanesque core that probably dates from the second half of the 13th century.

Nature and surroundings

The Natura 2000 site Údolí Jihlavy protects sub-Pannonian steppe grasslands, lowland to montane running waters with corresponding aquatic vegetation, Pannonian rocky grasslands, semi-natural dry grasslands and scrub complexes on calcareous substrates, vegetation on siliceous rocks and steep slopes, as well as oak-hornbeam forests.

The Templštejn ruins, the Chapel of St. Peter and St. Paul, Záklaty Hill [Jamolice] and Vrabčí kopec Hill [Jamolice] are located in the immediate vicinity of Jamolice. The Rabštejn ruins and Mount Leskoun are also located in the surroundings of Jamolice.

Transport connections

The IDS-JMK bus route 441 connects Moravský Krumlov, Jamolice, Dukovany, Rouchovany and Hrotovice. A yellow-marked hiking trail leads from Jamolice to Templštejn Castle.

Dates and other destinations

The Brno Zoo and Mount Babí hora are located in the wider regional surroundings of Jamolice. From 14 to 16 August 2026, the Tradiční rozmarýnové hody in Jamolice was scheduled as a music event featuring brass music and dance entertainment. For 29 August 2026, the Pytlácká stezka in Jamolice was scheduled as an event for sports and active leisure activities, featuring archery and hiking.
