Hluboké Mašůvky: Holiday Apartments and Houses

Hluboké Mašůvky is located in the Jevišovická pahorkatina uplands, in the Svatoňovec valley. The pilgrimage church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary was founded in 1680.

Culture and History

A Marian pilgrimage takes place on the first Saturday of every month. The main pilgrimage takes place every year on the first Saturday and Sunday in July.

The pilgrimage complex in Hluboké Mašůvky includes a Stations of the Cross, the Lourdes Grotto, the Holy Sepulchre, and a Marian Way with more than 50 depictions of pilgrimage sites from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Austria. Three wooden crosses stand on the Calvary of Hluboké Mašůvky; the Holy Sepulchre is located near the crosses. The original wooden Stations of the Cross chapels from 1860 were later replaced by brick chapels.

The pilgrimage grounds are located behind the church and less than 200 m from a bus stop.

The Niva, Nivky, Padělky locality includes part of a fortified settlement with a pointed ditch and two inner palisade fences. It is classified as a significant archaeological site in the municipalities of Hluboké Mašůvky and Plenkovice.

Landscape and Trails

A green-marked hiking trail begins at Mariánské náměstí and leads through the valley of the Plenkovický potok past the outdoor swimming pool, Hlavatův mlýn, Bábovec, and the ruins of Lapikus Castle.

The themed Mlynářská stezka cycling route passes through Hluboké Mašůvky; its route through the Znojmo region is dedicated to the history of milling. The Jevišovka hiking route passes a shelter near Hluboké Mašůvky and continues along wooded ridges.
