Above the valley of the Nešůrky stream lies the ruin of Doubravice Castle, about 1.5 km from Doubravice nad Svitavou. Doubravice Castle was built in the last third of the 13th century and had already been abandoned by 1528.

History and culture

The Church of St. John the Baptist complex comprises the church itself and the statue of St. John of Nepomuk standing opposite it to the northeast. The Baroque building dates from 1717 and was completely rebuilt after the fire of 1760. The complex also includes a Baroque mortuary chapel built into the cemetery wall.

In the southern part of the town square stands a stone sculpture of St. Sebastian enclosed by a balustrade; it bears the engraved year 1713. On the southern outskirts of Doubravice nad Svitavou, near the cemetery on the right-hand side of the road towards Rájec, stands an approximately 2-metre-high, brick-built and plastered wayside shrine. Boží muka is a brick-built wayside shrine with Baroque features that was already recorded on maps from the First Military Survey. The small architectural structure is an important element shaping the local landscape and a testament to popular piety in Doubravice nad Svitavou.

At the exit from Doubravice nad Svitavou towards Boskovice stands a Baroque cross bearing the year 1799. It is considered an important monument of local significance. The weir on the Svitava is a technical structure that is still in operation today for regulating the river and generating electrical energy.
