Lysice Château has been a national cultural monument since 2002. As a Baroque building, it stands on the site of a Renaissance water castle. The château features richly furnished interiors; guided tours take visitors through the reception rooms, while the château courtyard can be visited without a guide. A permanent exhibition is dedicated to the writer Marie von Ebner-Eschenbach.

Garden and Churches

The terraced château garden of Lysice and the adjoining orangery are open to visitors. The château garden features a promenade colonnade with a covered pergola.

The Church of St Peter and Paul is one of the oldest churches in the surrounding area and was first mentioned in 1390. It is accessible during services.

Landscape and Trails

The landscape around Lysice is hilly and characterised by forests, meadows and beautiful views; it lies on the edge of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands.

Marked hiking trails and cycle paths run through Lysice and the surrounding landscape. A marked hiking trail passing through Lysice takes visitors to the ruins of Rychvald Castle. The nearby remains of the castle consist of fragments of walls and filled-in cellars.

Lysicko Nature Park, together with the neighbouring Halasovo Kunštátsko and Svratecká vrchovina nature parks, forms a system of protected landscapes aimed at preserving the unspoilt countryside.

Events and Summer

Every year, Lysice Château hosts concerts as part of Concentus Moraviae, the international music festival of Moravian towns. The traditional Zámecké feérie also take place there in June and include numerous cultural events.

Lysice outdoor swimming pool is located on Zámecká Street and has a children's area. The outdoor pool also has a refreshment bar.
