Svetla: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Světlá is located in the geological depression of the Boskovická brázda. To the east, the cadastral area is bordered by the rising hills of the Drahanská vrchovina Highlands.

Architectural Heritage

Several buildings of the former estate have been preserved in Světlá. The estate was founded in 1563 by the abbot of Hradisko Monastery and rebuilt in the Baroque style in 1721. The surviving buildings also include a group of log barns from the 18th century and several farmsteads dating from around the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.

The “Starý kříž” stands beside a field path approximately 250 m west of and below Světlá. Monuments also shape the history of the village: The monument to Emperor Franz Joseph I was reconstructed and then re-erected in Světlá. A local resident restored the monument to František Palacký in the 1970s.

The Chapel of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary dates from 1872 and was reconstructed in 1996.

Local Events

Světlá’s regular local events programme includes the “Běh Světlou” race. Fish are regularly harvested from the ponds behind the municipal office and in the centre.

Individual events also connect Světlá with the regional programme: The “Okolo Malé Hané 2025” cycling tour included a refreshment stop at the event grounds in Světlá. The Světelská pouť, held from 16 to 18 August 2025, was scheduled to include football, the ABC dance event, a Sunday country gathering and the “útok žáků” programme item.

Nature and Orientation

The forests around Světlá invite long walks and offer mushrooms and wild berries. At the time of publication, there was neither a designated cycle route nor a marked hiking trail in the cadastral area of Světlá.

Transport Connections

Bus route 251 runs between Jevíčko and Skalice nad Svitavou via Velké Opatovice, Světlá and Boskovice. Route 680794 runs between Moravská Třebová and Brno via Jevíčko, Světlá and Boskovice.
