Zliv lies on the northwestern shore of the recreational pond Bezdrev. To the west of Zliv, the Zlivský rybník borders the town along the railway line.
Water and Trails
Swimming, yachting, windsurfing, stand-up paddleboarding and fishing are popular at Bezdrev. Several marked hiking and cycling routes run around Bezdrev, including a circular route over the dam and along the northern shore, as well as routes between Hluboká nad Vltavou, Zliv and Munice.
The “Včelařská stezka” cycling route passes through Zliv. One cycling tour starts in Zliv and follows the Mydlovarský rybník. The described route is just over 30 kilometres long and takes two to three hours, depending on your pace.
Culture and Events
The Church of St. Wenceslas in Zliv was built in the Neo-Gothic style. On 3 May 2019, the Základní umělecká škola Zliv hosted the 22nd regional guitar competition showcase, “Zlivská kytara”.
The Zlivská stovka is a firefighting competition in the 100-metre obstacle race; the fifth edition took place on 22 April 2023 at the SK Zliv stadium. The programme of the 7th ZLIVSKÝ SPORTOVNÍ DEN included a pump track activity.
Transport Connections
Zliv railway station is located on Line 190 between České Budějovice and Strakonice, which continues to Plzeň.
