Vrábče lies in the wooded foothills of the Blanský les and has extensive archaeological settlement traces dating from the Middle Stone Age.

Landscape

In the surroundings of Vrábče, the 741-metre-high Kluk peak offers a beautiful view of Kleť. It can be reached from the Vrábče railway stop via the “K2 Blanského lesa” route; from there, the route leads to the Kluk summit.

History and Buildings

The Kaplička sv. Jana Nepomuckého in Vrábče dates from the early 19th century. The Church of St Wenceslas was completed in 1936 and built in the 1930s through the voluntary efforts of local residents. The Chapel of St Wenceslas is a pseudo-Gothic structure.

Walking and Cycling Tours

In Vrábče, the existing network of cycling and hiking trails, cycle touring routes and bridleways is preserved. Vrábče is considered a suitable starting point for cycling tours. The cycling tour “Za renesanci na venkov kolem Vltavy do „Koutů“ a Blanského lesa” leads from Zlatá Koruna to the Vrábče stop via cycle route No. 1127; from there, it continues to Boršov nad Vltavou along unmarked local roads and Class III roads.

The “Údolím Němé strouhy” route is a short, easy path through the Němá strouha valley and ends at the Vrábče railway stop. The marked “Úbočím Kluku” route leads to the lower part of the Vrábče settlement; it is short, easy and also suitable for children and older hikers. The green hiking trail 3339 branches off at U Cáby to the Vrábče railway stop.
