The first written mention of Třebohostice dates back to 1357. A chapel is located in the village square and is a protected cultural monument.

Culture and history

The Zámek, Zlatá Hora hillfort is designated as a protected cultural monument. The Zámek hillfort site, also known as Hradec or Zlatá hora, has an irregular oval layout and covers 1.3 hectares. The stone rampart of the Zámek hillfort reaches a height of more than 2 metres in places.

Every autumn, the pond is drained for fishing, followed by a social event at the local cultural centre.

Landscape

The area around Třebohostice consists predominantly of hilly pastures. The landscape around Třebohostice is predominantly forested; along waterways and roads there are tree-lined avenues, numerous copses and scattered wooded areas.

Pálenec is an area of significant nature conservation value; its natural character is to be preserved as far as possible.

The Radomysl Mediumwave Radio Mast ruin is located near Třebohostice; Chlum hill is also nearby. In the immediate vicinity are Obrň hill [Třebohostice], Březový vrch hill [Únice-Hubenov] and Trubný vrch hill [Radomyšl - Láz]. In the wider regional surroundings of Třebohostice are Zvíkov Castle and the historic site “Lety u Písku. Memorial to the Holocaust of Roma and Sinti in Bohemia”.

Transport connections

Třebohostice has good transport connections to Strakonice and Horažďovice.
