Culture and history

The Chapel of Saint John the Baptist in Třešovice dates from around 1800. The brick building has a rectangular floor plan and a semicircular chancel. In Třešovice, the Chapel of Saint John the Baptist is designated as an immovable cultural monument.

The first written mention of Třešovice dates back to 1303. Another characteristic example of the local architectural culture is building No. 13, which was built in the style of South Bohemian Baroque.

Landscape and village character

An old avenue of willows grows along the Třešovický Stream. In the landscaped part of the village called Na Souhradí, there is a small pond in the direction of Cehnice, while the hill Na Oltářích rises southeast of Třešovice.

Třešovice is characterised by a harmonious South Bohemian agricultural landscape. Forests, waterways and ponds complement the agriculturally shaped surroundings. Třešovice also has a high proportion of greenery: groups of trees and shrubs accompany waterways, line field margins and are found at the transitions between arable fields.

Paths and regional connections

The area around Třešovice is criss-crossed by a network of field and footpaths that developed over time in response to the needs of agriculture. The open countryside is suitable for walks and cycling trips. A cycling trip to Helfenburk Castle Ruins leads through Třešovice.
