Skopytce is a place with a history documented in writing since 1368.

History and Culture

In 1415, the landowners Jan, Petr and Pelhřim associated with Skopytce signed a letter of complaint to the Council of Constance protesting the burning of Jan Hus. At the end of the 16th century, Skopytce was part of Choustník Castle's domain.

The village chapel in Skopytce was consecrated on 12 September 1926; its original bell was recovered in 1945.

The Church of Svatá Anna is located in the vicinity of Skopytce. The Church of Svatý Jan is located in the wider regional surroundings of Skopytce.

Trails and Landscape

A yellow-marked hiking trail runs through Skopytce. A 25 km KČT hike leads to Choustník and then follows this yellow-marked trail through Skopytce to Planá nad Lužnicí.

Nature

West of Chabrovice lies a cascade of five small ponds; the lower ponds are called Runla and Chobot. In the Za vsí field area on the eastern side of Skopytce lies a cascade of three small ponds.

The Hora mountain is located in the immediate vicinity of Skopytce. The surrounding area of Skopytce also includes the mountain (K Doubravě) [Radenín-Bítov], Podstupský vrch mountain and Hůrka mountain.
