From 15 to 17 May 2026, the country and folk festival “Ražický pražec” will take place for the 38th time at the open-air amphitheatre in Ražice.
Paths and Nature
The circular route “Přes Putim k Žižkově mohyle” is a 22-kilometre cycling and walking route for cyclists and pedestrians. It begins in Ražice, leads via Putim, the Řežabinec pond, Kestřany, the Žižkova mohyla, Mladějovice, Štětice and Humňany, and returns to Ražice.
The Permonická stezka educational trail begins at Ražice railway station and leads to an open-air amphitheatre built on the site of a former gold mine.
In the vicinity of Ražice, the Řežabinec Nature Reserve protects aquatic plant communities and waterfowl. An approximately three-kilometre educational trail runs around the Řežabinec Nature Reserve. The middle level of the Řežabinec observation tower is open to the public and offers views of the reed beds along the shores and across the pond’s water surface.
The Ražický nature monument includes a pond with extensive shore vegetation, an old oak dam and adjacent waterlogged areas. The area is significant as a breeding and resting site for a diverse bird population, including several wader species.
Culture and History
The Ražice–Tábor railway line was built between 1886 and 1889; operations began on 1 June 1889.
The Špejchar Museum presents a permanent exhibition in a reconstructed former granary in Ražice. The first part covers the nearby Řežabinec National Nature Reserve and the Řežabinecké tůně pools. The second part is dedicated to the railway, particularly Ražice’s location at the junction of the two important regional lines České Budějovice–Plzeň and Ražice–Tábor. The exhibition includes a model railway on which a small train runs at regular intervals.
The Špejchar Museum is located near the railway station and a bus stop; parking is available directly at the building.
The Chapel of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Ražice was built in 1822 in the rural Baroque style. It has a tiled gable roof; a four-sided brick bell tower rises above the gable.
The Chapel of Saint Florian was built in the second half of the 18th century at the crossroads of the roads to Lhota u Kestřan and Sudoměř, by Miska pond near Ražice. It was demolished on 20 September 1966; its present form has been significantly altered.
