Moyne: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Mojné has the character of a rural farming village. Several large agricultural estates, smaller farms and simple cottages shape the appearance of the village. The municipality of Mojné comprises the three historic settlements of Černice, Mojné and Záhorkovice. Mojné’s original character has been partially altered by renovations and new construction since around the mid-20th century.

Paths and Landscape

Cycle Route 1197 runs through Černice, Mojné and Záhorkovice. Above Rájov, this cycle route can be accessed at the Zlatá Koruna–Harazim bus stop. A red-marked hiking trail leads from Harazim to Černice and onwards via Jílkův mlýn to Mirkovice. A yellow-marked hiking trail begins in Černice, leads to Kulichův kříž and continues to Chabičovice. The Blanský les Protected Landscape Area is also located near Mojné.

In the centre of Mojné stands an original blacksmith’s forge with a bell tower; the municipal office and a shop are also located there today.

History

Mojné and Černice are mentioned in a document from 1315 as possessions that Bavor III of Strakonice donated to the Svatá trnová koruna Monastery. Mojné belonged to the monastery’s possessions for more than four and a half centuries.

Architectural Heritage

In Černice, the Church of Saint Mary Magdalene forms a well-preserved ensemble with a bell tower, mortuary, cemetery wall and a passageway ossuary integrated into the wall. The presbytery in Černice is essentially late Gothic; this is evidenced by the surviving saddle portal on the ground floor.

The Chapel of Saint Sebastian in Mojné was probably built before the mid-18th century. Its niche contains a wood carving of Saint Sebastian. The chapel is an example of high-quality small-scale architecture. The listed farmstead No. 3 in Záhorkovice is not open to the public.

Tradition and Remembrance

The traditional celebration marking the end of the Carnival season, with its distinctive “Koníček” procession, was held exclusively in Mojné and differed from the processions customary in the Doudlebsko region, which featured rose or straw motifs. A commemorative plaque is located on the birthplace of Karel Hrdina in Černice. Karel Hrdina translated the “Vlastní životopis Karla IV.” and Cosmas’s “Chronicle of Bohemia”.
