A chapel defines the central public space of Mačkov.

Culture

In the centre of Mačkov stands a wooden bell tower clad in sheet metal. The year 1809 is displayed above its entrance.

Partly enclosed farmhouse no. 27 in Mačkov is an immovable cultural monument and was probably built towards the end of the 18th century. It preserves valuable interiors with a log construction, wooden-beamed ceilings and vaulted ceilings.

West of Mačkov stands an ornate cast-iron cross. In the centre, a monument also commemorates those who fell in the First World War.

The monument to K. H. Borovský stands on a hill east of Mačkov; its foundation stone was laid in 1906.

Paths and water

Cycle route 312 passes through Mačkov and connects Blatná, Jindřichovice, Bratronice, Mečíchov and Horažďovice along this section. A newly built cycle path also runs between Blatná and Mačkov and is suitable for pedestrians as well.

The Mačkov quarry is designated as a bathing area. The dam of the Great Mačkovský Pond is recommended as a stop on the route between Blatná and Mačkov.

Geographical location

The Strakonice–Blatná railway line runs through the Mačkov area.
