Lutová: Holiday Apartments and Houses

An originally Gothic church on a hill northwest of the village green forms Lutová’s dominant landmark. The Church of All Saints was founded by the Vítkovci in 1359, rebuilt in the late Renaissance style in 1615, and received its tower in 1875. In the cemetery next to the Church of All Saints, the remains of a Way of the Cross from the second half of the 18th century can be seen.

Villagescape and History

The brick buildings in Lutová date from around the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries; their simple, sparsely decorated appearance is connected with the rebuilding after the great fire of 1875. Three-part farmsteads with their gables facing the street are arranged around Lutová’s elongated village green. On the village green stands a niche chapel dedicated to Saint John of Nepomuk from the mid-19th century; this is where cycle routes 1010, 1011, and 1035 meet. Lutová has been designated a village heritage zone since 1990.

Landscape and Nature

Lutová lies in a gently rolling landscape in the southeastern part of the Třeboň Basin. The village is located in Zone III of the Třeboňsko Protected Landscape Area and in the Třeboňsko Bird Protection Area.

Things to Do

The Mikuláš Ruthard educational trail leads from the dam of Hejtman Pond along the red-marked route, passing Nový Hospodář and Starý Hospodář ponds on the way to Lutová. It is classified as an easy cycling educational trail, 10 km long, and showcases the natural wealth of the ponds as well as the old fruit varieties cultivated around Lutová.
