Ločenice is situated in the hilly landscape of South Bohemia and maintains a vibrant Masopust tradition. The Ločenice Volunteer Fire Brigade keeps the Staročeská koleda alive every year: accompanied by brass-band music, participants go from house to house alongside masked figures. In the evening, the tradition ends with a dance party at the local inn. It was already broadcast live on Czechoslovak Television in 1974.
Landscape and Sports
The Ločenický duathlon took place on July 20, 2024, and July 12, 2025, at the sports field in Ločenice. The competition combined running and cycling.
Local Culture
The Květena folklore ensemble was founded in Ločenice in 1965 for Doudleby songs and dances. On June 28, 2025, a traditional exhibition of stationary engines, including demonstrations of how they work, took place at the village square grounds in Ločenice.
Remembrance and Spiritual Life
The Chapel of Saint Agnes of Bohemia in Ločenice was completed in 1997 and solemnly consecrated. Services are held in the chapel regularly once a month. A pilgrimage Mass is also held around the feast day of Saint Agnes of Bohemia on November 13.
The monument to the fallen of the First World War in Ločenice commemorates 29 locals who died in the war. The bust of T. G. Masaryk at this monument was solemnly unveiled again on March 11, 1990.
